Coosa Valley Sod Farm Family
We are a family owned and operated sod farm established in 1972 by Thurman and Millie Newman. Converting cotton land over to sod production was a bold move in the early 1970's. Shelby and Jefferson County's growing housing market and development helped kickstart the demand and sale of sod.
Through the years honesty, hard work, and a loyal customer base have been the keys to success. Grandsons now continue to expand and grow based on the same values passed down through the generations.
Today as we continue to grow we are introducing cutting edge technology onto the farm. State of the art harvesters, mowers and irrigation help to ensure our customers the best turfgrass available at competative prices.
